Warm Toasts

Published by under General Information

Cold drizzlin’ rain showers here for the past 24 hours.  About 3/4 inch so far. But the damp weather didn’t dampen  spirits for the turn0ut at the Book Nook Wine Tasting Benefit Sunday afternoon.  A nice crowd of supporters enjoyed lively auction and raised more money for the Book Nook.  Less than 3 weeks til Close on the building and only short a few thousand dollars more.  Looks like we are going to make it happen.

Cuchara Mountain Resort

Published by under General Information

Cuchara Mountain Resort falls behind schedule on summer operating plans.  A lack of funding has evidently caused resignation of former Ski Manager Jim Gill.  Mr. Cantrell still hopes to get grant approval and efforts continue to seek matching funds for those grants as well.  Lets hope this is only a temporary set-back. We continue to fully support their ongoing efforts but the loss of momentum is surely a disappointment to all.

Spring Weather Storms

Published by under General Information

I made a quick trip down to Waco, TX this week.  Temp. was 94 degrees when I landed there on Monday.  And temp. was 41 degrees when I landed back here in Colorado on Wednesday. Thankfully we picked up snow flurries and rain showers this week.  Our neighbors in many parts of Texas and OK  are experiencing drought and range fires. And further east our friends along the mighty Mississippi are having a real bad time of it there.

An insurance article today reminded me that May is also tornado month for many of our neighbors. Here is a good article to review your insurance coverages before a tornado hits.

We continue to see increased interest and nice sales into Spring.  The tolerable weather has folks out looking and even buying.

Two weeks ago I represented the Buyers in their purchase of the Cuchara River House for $275,000.  A great value property that saw several contracts being tendered.  Last week I represented the Sellers in closing on the first land Sale transaction  in C.R.E. at Raspberry Mountain Ranch in the past several years.  That  nice parcel with well went for $219,000.  This week  we just Closed on the sale of a wonderful home on Field St. for $375,000.  Our office represented both buyers and sellers on this one. What a buy that was.

Sellers are motivated right now and low interest rates plus great inventory means good buying opportunities.  Come see us soon.

Cuchara Inn

Published by under General Information

A very nice Grand Opening Welcome up at the newly refurbished Cuchara Inn this past Saturday.  A large crowd of  Cuchara and La Veta well-wishers dropped by to see what Barb and Eddy Hall have been doing.  30 rooms are now finished and everything looked fabulous. Coffee is on and open for business so drop on by.

The weather changed on Sunday with snow flurries all day long.  Clearing out last night and temps. dropped back into the 20’s. Spring has not fully sprung here yet.
