Save the Gym

Published by under General Information

A nice turnout last week by members and others, to Save the Gym.  Nearly 50 folks came out in 5 degree weather to support the gym. Denny Patterson explained the circumstances and options for keeping  Two Peak Fitness open.  The crowd was filled with optimism and enthusiasm.  Nearly 30 people agreed to pay their full year membership dues in January, subject to Pattersons retaining an Operator/Manager of the fitness  facility.

Grandote Golf Closes

Published by under General Information

Reliable sources tell us that Dr. Briggs has announced the closing of Grandote Peaks Golf Course.  And not just closed for the winter either, but Closed indefinately.  He has stated that until there is a change in the economic climate and a change in Town Board/Mayor, he will likely not open the course for any play at all next year.  Closure of the course for even one season, would be a real loss to La Veta.
