Weed Workshop

Published by at 5:40 am under Local News Affairs

The Rural Property Owner’s Assn. and C.S.U. Extension will host a Noxious Weed Workshop this Saturday, June 20, at Huerfano County Community Center.  Our Spring rains have germinated weed seeds more than usual. While the Lupin and Leafy Spurge produce a pretty flower bloom, they are as noxious as the Thistle and can take over an entire pasture, choking out the grasses and starving the livestock and wildlife.

Phia, CSU does have a website but rarely posts schedules of these upcoming workshops. And sadly, Jim Conley’s vacated position here in Huerfano County is not expected to be filled, due to budget restrains. Your best bet for upcoming workshops might be found on the CSU-Trinidad website. http://www.extension.colostate.edu/lasanimas Or email the CSU-Trinidad office at coopext_las_animas@mail.colostate.edu
