Cell Tower Antennas

Published by at 6:00 am under General Information

Several La Veta residents with AT&T Comnet cell phones have recently reported greatly improved reception.  But those of us on Alltel or Verizon have mixed results.  Mayor Schmidt reports that all antenna fees have been paid but the Town does not know what carriers are functioning or plan to operate off the water tower antennas.

Verizon is trying to put a tower in Castle Rock up hereon our ridge. I asked about La Veta, he said he is putting in a tower near the La Veta pass “right now”. Don’t know if it will help you there in the W. Valley or not… but it’s a start! The group ALSO said, call…call call… the more who call and the more calls they get (the same person—ver and over works tooo) FORCES someone to come out and read and test the area for the complaint and seek remedies! They suggested … as you drive arond, check you service. Note where it is nil or weak and call it in as soon as you have “bars”… then keep driving and note and call…. it’s not only the way to call anc call and call, but also the way to help them more quickly ID the problem areas…

I also asked about the Alltel tower I read about in the paper.. they had no clue.

If you call enough, someone wil be assigned to you and keep you in the loop on the progress and actions being taken!

It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place
