Main Street Planters

Published by at 7:01 am under General Information

Beautification Day gets under way this morning.  Liz and Marta have their volunteer baskets of paint, brushes, stencils and soil/peatmoss all ready to go.  This gets all the planters ready for next Thursday (5/27) when volunteers will again show up to plant and sweep sidewalks and gutters. Volunteers have been coordinated by Sandra Eddy.  Marta will show up with goodies from The Ryus Bakery and John at Two Peak Coffee Shop will have hot coffee to reinforce the volunteer troops.  Truly a community effort!

I love the new La Veta attitude! It is the coming together of ALL people, that I think is the attitude that we all remember as kids here in La Veta. There are several people in town, as myself, who went to school here, grew up here, and felt that community pride! I do believe a positive wind is blowing in La Veta! Lets all keep up the good work! Liz, Sandra, and all the other great volunteers, have a great day! Kelly

Kelly – thanks for your words of encouragement! Come by and see our wonderful volunteers in action. And, a big thanks to Grandote Golf (Dr. Briggs, Kelly and Dave) for the behind the scenes work for the upcoming benefit golf tournament on May 30th. It’s a great day in the neighborhood! Liz
