La Veta – Cuchara Valley Blog

Memorial Weekend has seen more traffic here in Cuchara Valley than we expected. Aspen and oak aren’t even in leaf yet, but beautiful weather, bears are out, visitors and clients coming in earlier than usual it seems. Meanwhile, I am getting plenty of good work. Fantastic new properties to look at. And I am reminded that my new posts have been lagging.  Will post more photos later.

Our son Kevin came to visit this week. Great time together but always too quick.  He showed me his newest I-phone, I-pad, I-decoder, etc. But I will probly stay with the old rotary.

A nice 7 inch snow last night here in Cuchara Valley.

Our good friend just posted that they are right now de-icing her plane in Denver. Here in Cuchara Valley we are 65 degrees with warming breezes. But we would sure take that moisture if it comes down our way.

A beautiful 65 degree day here in the Cuchara Valley. Forecast for tomorrow in La Veta is 10 inches snow with blizzard conditions.  SPRINGTIME, bring it on.

Another nice wet Cuchara Valley snow this past weekend. From 5 inches in downtown La Veta to over 15 inches up at Cuchara. Finally laying in some snowpack before end of season.

Grateful for another nice cuchara valley snow today and tonight.  About another 5 inches. It may not be a real big one but they all add up. Cleans and freshens the entire valley too.  Fun to see the new fresh game tracks tomorrow.

Not too early to start planning to attend this year’s Annual Cuchara County Music Festival.  Last year was fantastic. Due West, Charlie Jenkins and more. New performances this year from Grammy nominees,  Ty Herndon and others.  Don’t miss it.
