We began planning our new adventure when
we first discovered La Veta. The area has
exceeded our expectations and fulfilled many of our dreams, including
La Veta Realty and Second Chance Ranch.
My wife and I relocated to La Veta from
Steamboat Springs. We were looking
for a small friendly town in Southern Colorado. We wanted a mountain area of beauty and tranquility, where newcomers felt
welcome. A rural setting but still
with convenient access to larger urban areas. We found it all, in La Veta. And so can you.
Jerry
In Steamboat for 10 years, I was involved in
real estate and business investments including Soda Creek Western Mercantile and
Schaefer Outfitter. Prior to that we spent many years in Santa Fe, where I
served as President of Bank of Santa Fe. My
other activities included serving as a Director of Bank of Albuquerque, the
Santa Fe Economic Development Council, The State Business Development Council on
Venture Capital and other Boards and Committees in both the Public and the
Private sector.
Now in my fifth year of La Veta/Cuchara real estate, I have consistently been a "Top Producer". I work real estate full-time/year-round here in the valley area, using my past experience and contacts to better serve my clients needs. Personal recreation time is limited in the summer, but I do enjoy riding our horses and an occasional round of golf. I pride myself on friendly customer service with property knowledge, honesty and integrity.
Liz
After four years of operating her antique, gifts and flower shop here in La Veta, Liz made the decision to close shop in December 2005. With the completion of our new home in the Huajatolla Valley, she decided to spend more time at home gardening, tending to our personal business and to assist me in the real estate business. With her business background, she will bring much to my marketing, advertising and personal liaison with clients.
Liz continues to also serve on the Boards of Directors for the La Veta/Cuchara Chamber of Commerce and the Francisco Center for the Performing Arts. Her creative side will continue to be nurtured by pursuing different art mediums and decorating our new rental cabin in Cuchara (Little Creek Cabin). It's a darling little cabin situated on a beautifully treed lot on Little Creek. Completely furnished, so just bring your suitcase, a fine bottle of wine and lot's of good books.
